Guardian of the Red Rocks
This striking photo captures the raw beauty and resilience of Zion National Park in a single, powerful frame. At the center stands an ancient, gnarled Utah juniper tree—its thick, twisted trunk and sprawling, weathered branches bare and sculptural, telling stories of decades (or even centuries) enduring harsh desert winds, intense sun, and scarce water. The tree's intricate root system clings tenaciously to the reddish-brown earth, exposed in dramatic, bulbous forms that snake across the ground.
I'm Brooke, and nothing lights me up more than the open road (or no road at all). I live for camping under starry skies, chasing sunrises on remote trails, and discovering hidden spots most people never see. I love the feeling of fresh mountain air, the crunch of gravel under tires, & quiet moments.
