Missing American Hero and Crew returned home

MSgt. Edwin "Jack" Pearce and crew were shot down over Laos on March 29, 1972. Like his POW father, Ed Pearce -- who was held POW in Russia during his service in WWII, Jack was lost in heroic wartime service. Unlike his father, who after the horror of years in captivity returned home alive, Jack's remains were not recovered for many decades. On June 17, 2010, my husband and I had the honor to attend Jack and crew's joint burial service in Arlington National Cemetery.

My husband and I had different approaches to supporting our military men and women during Vietnam. He served in the U.S. Army, and I was among the Woodstock supporters. Young men and women like Jack were carried daily and deeply in both of our hearts! Still are!
