Rekindling America’s Appreciation of Photography

“We the People”

Jane “Washington” (soon to be 9 yrs. old) and her twin siblings, Finn “Franklin” and Frances “Ross” (both turning 5yrs. old) are honoring America’s 250th birthday by learning about and dressing-up as three of our nation’s historical legends. Their representations of these historical figures are comprised of mixed pieces of play-pretend costumes from the toy box at home, a little crafting, a few relevant props, and a replica of the original, colonial American flag design that we were lucky to purchase on a Prime Day deal. After playing and posing as George, Ben, and Betsy, these three, along with their mom and grandmother, relocated the little colony to the local boat docks under the bridge for a Boston Tea Party experience. There, the three clinked their toy tea cups, and raised them to cheer “Huzzah!” about what they thought was a hilarious way to rebel against taxes. The finale to the fun came in the form of dunking our household tea bags by their string over the side of the pier, into Back Bay Biloxi waters. It was a day that I hope to never forget.
