The Barrier Island's Spanish Mustangs
Three of our direct decendants of the Spanish Mustangs brought to the Outer Banks centuries ago by Spanish explorers. They are considered critically endangered and are the only remaining wild herd of Spanish Mustangs "in the world". They do not live on a refuge but live wild & free, having completely adapted to the harsh conditions of this area. We have approximately 100 left of the herd and they are extremely precious to us. "ALL PROCEEDS" won in my name will be donated directly to the CWHF.
Hi! My name is Sharon Graves and I am a wildlife and nature photographer in the Outer Banks of NC. I grew up with horses and my love for them has only deepened living so closely to this herd of Spanish Mustangs. I truly love capturing them on the dunes and a long the beaches of Carova.
