My first love!
Me, Stella Hedger Abney, at my first husband’s grave fifty years after he was killed in Vietnam. I go as often as I can to put flowers on his grave. I live in Southern Illinois and he is buried in his hometown of Pontiac,Michigan. He died when I was 19 years old, he was only 24. In this picture I am seventy years old, he will always be 24.

Widowed at 19 years old. Remarried after 13 years. I will be 75 years old at the end of September. My first husband, Cpl James R. Hedger and I only had 4 years together. We had one daughter who was only 6 months old when he died. I put flowers on Jimmy’s grave as often as I can.
