White Pelicans
Two white pelicans stood a the very end of Cortez Village, like a pair of late seasoned snowbirds refusing to leave paradise. Against the calm Florida waters, their bright white feathers almost glowed in the sun, while their oversized golden bills gave them that familiar prehistoric charm. It was unusual to see them still lingering this time of year, as most had already migrated North, but these two seemed perfectly content extending their vacation. Even Pelicans know it's hard to leave Florida.
