Heartache

Small village in Punjab Pakistan. A domestic abuse victim comes for help at the house of my relatives as they can influence the mother in law who happens to be the main aggressor. The pain, helplessness, and sorrow on mother and daughter’s face gave me heartache. Really moved to see how so many women are still living an unimaginable painful life. They have nowhere to go as after marriage they are expected to make their marriages work no matter how toxic the environment is at their in-laws home.
