Maui’s Iris

Our dog, Maui, died in August 2020. It was a devastating loss for my husband and I. We buried him and I planted a whole bag of Iris bulbs hoping they would bloom. But they never did. I just figured I had gotten some duds and forgot about them. On the third month, of the third year after his death, three beautiful, purple Irises bloomed over his grave. They brought me to tears! This is one of the blooms with the morning dew and sun illuminating it’s vibrant colors.
