A stray kitty showed up on my third-floor doorstep, and I offered tuna. In that moment, she chose me, finding comfort, safety, and love. Every cuddle and sleepy sigh since that night has been a quiet reminder: I’m Bastet’s favorite human and she is my favorite non human.
