Alley Mill
In the heart of America, in the ancient Ozarks, the Alley Mill and spring stand in the Jacks Fork area. Known as the National Scenic Riverway, “an unspoiled river is a very rare thing in this nation today.” (Wild & Scenic Rivers Act, 1968) The mill was built in 1894 and replaced an earlier mill on the same site built in 1868, The spring produces 81 million gallons of water per day and the mill was able to provide free water power for machines to grind grain for the communities daily bread.
I’ve been a special education teacher for 25 years. I love outdoor education. My passion is the outdoors and photos that show a story. I have a passion for the heartland and the ancient Ozarks. I feel there’s a story there. I’m married and have two kids. I love seeing new things.
