Great Blue Heron
I took this photo at a local lake in the late afternoon/early evening. The heron was perched on a low hanging branch of a tree that overhung the water. I took a plethora of photos as it was preening itself, including this up close portrait
I’m a college student based in Maryland studying meteorology. I recently started photography as a hobby and it has rapidly become a passion especially involving wildlife photography. Starting photography has helped me overcome some significant mental health challenges and I feel very refreshed!
